For nearly two decades, Post-Polio Health International has connected polio survivors with trusted medical guidance through its popular advice column. Beginning in 2009, readers of our quarterly publication, Post-Polio Health, were invited to submit their questions to Dr. Frederick Maynard, a PHI board member and post-polio specialist with decades of experience treating polio survivors. That column, Ask Dr. Maynard, became PHI’s longest-running and most-popular column.
In 2023, we invited Drs. Marny Eulberg, Martin Wice, and Daniel Ryan to also participate in answering questions, at which time we changed the name of the column to Ask the Doctors. Along with Dr. Maynard, all four physicians are members of PHI’s Medical Advisory Committee and have accrued decades’ worth of knowledge on dealing with the late effects of polio.
This new online resource makes that wealth of knowledge more accessible than ever.
